You read it a lot, but that’s only because it’s the truth. I mean Fall Always calls for a good bowl of hot soup.
My favorite soups for Fall are the orange ones. Such as Carrot Soup, Pumpkin Soup but did some Sunday afternoon mixing and matching and came up with my new favorite soup. And yes, it’s orange as well!
Making soup is also a bit nostalgic to me. It all comes down to the Soup pot! Mine is the one I got from my Mom and she got it from hers! At our house, soup must be made in that one pot only even though it’s quite a large pot!
The basis consists of red paprikas and then added some sweet potato and a (big) pinch of turmeric. Turmeric is good for many things, but especially helps as a natural detox of your liver. Which isn’t a bad idea after Summer and Cocktail season.
Just try for yourself and let me know!

- Cut the Paprikas into pieces (not too small). Peel the Sweet Potato and cut into pieces as well.
- Put some Olive Oil in your pot and put all the paprikas and sweet potato in it. Stir in it frequently so nothing keeps sticking to the bottom of the pot.
- Once you notice the smell of grilled papikas, add the turmeric and pepper.
- Add 1.5 litres of water and the cubes from the broth. In case you use fresh chicken and/or vegetable broth, just make sure that all together it's 1.5 litres.
- Cook it all together for about 30min.
- Mix it all together and top off with some chives on top and with some garlic bread of Grissini (bread sticks).
